Adjutants Word Young Marines, families, and friends… We are very excited to announce that we have found a new field training home for the Temecula Valley Young Marines! We got a great response from the Press Enterprise newspaper article and one of those contacts was DJ Oliver, a real estate broker. She had a client who had taken property off the market and it was available. CO Guiles and I met with the owners who have been very supportive and our very excited about helping the Young Marines and developing a long working relationship. The property is 60+ acres in the De Luz area. It has great topography for the Young Marines training. A stream runs through the center of the property with Oak trees all over. Mountains and boulders to climb and even a bit of a “jungle” to navigate. The property is undeveloped and there is SO much potential! It’s going to take some work, but it’s going to be gradual. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will the “Young Marines’ Ranch.” There will be some transition time where we may be meeting somewhere else with a classroom and facilities, and we have our gear in storage, but hopefully for only about 3 months. Now we want everyone to come out to the new “Young Marines’ Ranch” for an Open House / Orientation / Re-registration for 2010-2011. Since September is so busy already the first available weekend date is Sunday, September 12th |
TVYM Drug Demand Reduction There is a lot of information on the use of drugs in popular culture, on the Internet, and in daily conversation with friends and peers. Some of the information is accurate, but much of it is not. Find out as much as you can about illegal, legal, prescription drugs, and even over-the-counter drugs, and their effects on your body and your brain. Also, there are legal consequences for growing, manufacturing and dealing drugs, or providing them to willing or unwilling users. In many states, possessing drugs for personal use, or with the intent to distribute is against the law. Check out the DEA's web site and remember it is not hard to just think twice and refuse drugs or peer pressure. |
