Marine Corps/Young Marines Ball

 

The Temecula valley Young Marines 2006 Marine Corps / Young Marines ball took place on November 18th 2006 at Vail lake, California. Before the ceremonies started Mrs. Guiles explained the Ceremony to the Young Marines . Meanwhile CO Guiles helped Sgt. Jones out with the Marine's prayer , then they both contemplated the time to start (never get two infantrymen together) . When Sgt Jones finished the Marine's prayer CO Guiles stepped up and ensured that we all have not forgotten our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines who are POW's in a far off land and who could not celebrate with us this evening . The Presentation of the Birthday cake which was supplied and decorated by Mr. And Mrs. Vaughn. the First piece of cake went to the oldest Young Marine present Cpl. Zechariah Taylor , the second piece of cake went to the youngest Young Marine present Pvt. Marlon Wantz . Next came the Awards Ceremonies the first ones to receive awards were the Parent Volunteers from our recent deployment to Hawaii. Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Perez and Mr. Rivera all received awards for their ability to keep our mini van convoys moving . Mrs. Donna Rivera received her award first for all of her hard work with the female Young Marines the CO ensured that all of the female recipients of awards were presented a bouquet of flowers with their award. Next up to receive their awards were the male staff members from Temecula Valley LTJG Boudreau received a "Meritorious Mast" as did SSgt. Guevara (Police Officer Guevara was patrolling the streets of Oceanside this night making sure the community was safe). Mr. Boudreau presented the unit with a certificate for raising the Nations flag over the USS Arizona memorial .

Next came the Female Staff of Temecula Valley Mrs. Theresa Aguilar for all of her hard work in securing uniforms for all of our Young Marines before our deployment and the many hours she spent away from her family to accomplish this mission Mrs. Aguilar received the "Temecula Valley Young Marines Staff Achievement Award". The next recipient was our unit Adjutant Mrs. Guiles for her extremely hard work and the demanding hours it took to accomplish the mission of our short fuse deployment Mrs. Guiles received a plaque and the "Temecula Valley Young Marines Staff Commendation Award".

Now came the excitement for the first time in our units history we have named Mrs. Madeline Blake as our parent volunteer of the year for 2005-2006. Mrs. Blake has contributed greatly to our unit and it's Young Marines over the past year. This award was the most deserving for a job well done . And lastly our unit named their first Young Marine of the year, CO Guiles announced Young Marine GySgt. Katie Aguilar as our units first Young Marine of the year.
