Temecula Valley Young Marines 5th annual Christmas party
This years Christmas party was a little get together the Young Marines decided to do a secret Santa gift exchange with each other and collect gifts for the Toys for Tots drive. Lots of toys were collected for the Toys for Tots drive and a good time was had by all. The whole event started off with CO Guiles recognizing a few parent volunteers that help the unit out at a lot of events. CO Guiles then recognized few parent volunteers who have helped out a recent fundraising events such as the silent auction dinner and various other fundraisers. The next people to be recognized were parent volunteers who recently traveled with the unit to Washington DC. CWO3 Tracy Byers, Mr. George Rivera, Mr. Dave Blanchard and Mr. Beto Perez all received a “Unit Meritorious Mast”
. Mrs. Madeline Blake received the "Unit Certificate of Commendation Award" for all her work that she does for the units fundraising
. The CO then recognized several Staff members for what they did for our unit’s deployment as well. Ms. Martie Aguilar received the Unit Certificate of Commendation; LTJG Art Boudreau received the Units Staff Achievement Award. The CO Presented the last two awards to our XO Mrs. Theresa Aguilar who received the Units Staff Achievement Award (Second Award) for the amazing job she did as the units Logistics Officer while we were deployed

. The last Staff member to be called up was the unit Adjutant Mrs. Guiles the CO presented her with the Units Staff Achievement Award for an outstanding job with the continuous flow of administrative work that was done before during and after our deployment.
The party then kicked in with everyone enjoying a good meal from all of the delicious deserts and dinners everyone brought to the party

. The day concluded with a gift exchange but this was no ordinary gift exchange the Young Marines were called up to take a present (which could be stolen by another Young Marine only once)

. If a present was stolen the Young Marine who lost their present could draw another one. This went on for some time and it seemed to be a good time by all. It was a good day and it helps keepbond the units Young Marines and families strong, Merry Christmas Young Marines. Oooh- Rahh !!
