Unit Christmas Party

On December 9th 2006, the Temecula Valley Young Marines held there 4th annual family Christmas party. This year was a little different normally we have a gift exchange between the Young Marines instead this year we had each Young Marine family bring a gift for the Rancho Damacitas group home for foster children. We had a huge turn out and once again our Young Marines and there families came through and answered the call to help out and bring some happiness to those they do not know.

Every family brought a main dish or desert for the buffets line. The XO ensured the Martinellis sparkling cider was nice and cold for the kids , While Mr. Boudreau and the CO served the drinks . The food was great, , . It was obvious that the Deserts were even better . After the chow it was time to socialize the Young Marines went outside and had some fun. Some Young Marines decided to use a handrail for a little flip competition , while others enjoyed a game of king of the stump , . Others decided to relax and just talk , , , , , , . The XO decided to take a tour of the area with his festive hat and LCpl. Aguilar decided to let every know how happy he was LCpl Aguilar and LCpl Blake decided to pose with their flame shirts . Sgt. Lingfelt's wife Heather and son Zack enjoyed themselves, But when Zack got loose they Young Marines took off after him and made sure he was safe . Most of the parents decided to stay inside and get to know each other , , , , , , . Soon everyone was called inside by the Adjutant for another surprise the adjutant announced that they CO and XO's Birthday's had just passed and they had a couple of gifts for them the CO got a Santa on a Harley and the XO got a BBQ set however the present the XO really liked was his Birthday card. After the gifts were opened it was time for some Birthday cake . The CO had some gifts for the Young marines and their siblings he brought a lot of Marine Corps posters and stickers for the everyone to take home, , , Although everyone wanted the Infantry posters the #1 rated poster was the Marine Corps DI . Everyone who attended seemed to have a fun time especially the XO and CO . Thank you Young marine Families and thank you for making Christmas special for the kids at Rancho Damacitas group home, Merry Christmas everybody and we will see you at drill January 13th.
