Temecula City Christmas Parade 2010

This year's theme for the Temecula Valley young Marines was the Island of Misfit toys from Rudolph the red nose reindeer TV special. Some of the unit meet at Mrs. McDaneld house (who was very gracious in letting us store our float there before the parade). And Thank you to Mrs. Gonzales for donating boxes from their UPS stores. The Young Marines and parents that helped decorate the float and get it ready for the parade down old town front street in Temecula did an outstanding job. Some of the Young Marines, Parents and Staff decorated the float for Christmas adding snow , wrapped presents , , toy solider's , and lights the night before the parade.

As the Young Marines arrived at the staging area they all gathered around looking at everyone's costumes we had a Rudolph the Red Nosed reindeer , A couple of Charlie's in the box , , a Kylie in the box the plane that could not fly , a train with square wheels and Yukon Cornelius (CO Guiles with a beard) and not to mention a lot of elf's and more Reindeer. All of the Young Marines were ready to they were lead out into the parade by Head Elf's YM's/MGySgt. Guiles and 1st Sgt. Currier . as the Young Marines marched along the Charlie in the boxes would pop up and surprise all of the little kids in the crowd who cheered for more. YM/Sgt Major Guiles and Mr. Colvin followed along and snapped pictures and a video as well.

It was a cold night but thanks to the parents and Young Marines it was a successful parade as the Unit again won 1st place in this years parade. A special congratulations goes out to Mrs. Tavares who's costume the plane that could not fly was by far the best in the parade.

Outstanding Job Young Marines!!!
