The City of Temecula's 2006 Christmas Parade

The Temecula valley Young Marines helped usher in Christmas 2006 by supporting the City's annual christmas parade the theme was Ginger bread dreams. our entry of course was gum drop buttons. The plan of action was to build a Ginger bread house first.....

The house was built on Mr. Solis' trailer with the generous help of our parent volunteers and Young Marines. The first obstacle building the house Mr. Blanchard adds some boxes, The XO Mr. Aguilar, Mr. Blancahrd and Mr. White start to build the roof. . The CO adds the support beams . Mrs. rivera lead the charge with the Young Marines and started adding the extra stuff. first came the frosting (ummm frosting) , then came the Candy Canes , . Then came the fence and all of the M&M's . The house was complete except for the lights which would be put on at the parade. A couple of days later it was December 1st and the Parade was here time to finish the float Mrs. Guiles worked hard on the unit signs , . The float was complete now it was time to suit up the CO!! and take a group photo . The bakers got into position , , . After all of that work it had to be one of the best floats out there . CO Guiles and Cpl. Fitzpatrick pose before the unit steps off . Step off time Mr. Perez was the float driver and did the floats lights shine . When the Parade began the The CO waved to everyone. The CO and Cpl. Fitzpatrick had fun on the float waving at crowd and getting them to wave and cheer for the Gingerbread man . After a brief performance for the Judges by the Gingerbread man and Mr. Hunniman from the California newspaper. we traveled a few more blocks and It was time to say good bye and just like that the parade was over. The parade was 2 hours long this year and everyone did a great job at interacting with the bystanders Ooh- Rah Young marines way to support your community.
