A Color Guard for City Hall
On Tuesday May 13th, the Temecula Valley Young Marines were honored to be able to present the Colors at the Temecula City Meeting. The Color Guard detail met CO Guiles at City Hall at 1800 they practiced outside for a little while before going into the meeting room. The Color Guard used YM/GySgt. Guiles who replaced YM/Cpl. Blake for this evenings event YM/Cpl. Blake was busy this evening receiving and award and getting promoted in his JROTC unit (way to go YM/Cpl. Blake). The Color Guard CO Guiles and the Color Guards parents all moved into the meeting room, there was no one in the room at all perfect time to practice
. The CO took advantage of this and had the Color guard practice marching into the meeting room several times
,
,the room was not very tal so the Color guard had to overcome that challenge
. At 1845 the call was given to the Color guard last minute preparations were made by the Young Marines before they marched on the colors. CO Guiles remained outside the meeting room the help control the flow of pedestrians in the way of the Color guard. The City of Temecula’s Mayor the Honorable Mike Naggar asked for everyone to please rise. The Mayor then announced that the Temecula Valley Young Marines will march on the colors
. The Young Marines marched on the colors and presented them to the audience
,
,
. There was a short pause as the battle standards slowly lowered. The Mayor then asked everyone to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. Everyone placed their right hand over their heart and said the pledge. At the end of the pledge the Color Guard retired the colors for the evening
,
. As the Young Marines marched out the audience clapped and cheered and Mayor Naggar read a little about the Young Marines from the National Website. The CO, the Color Guard and their parents all left the building. The Color Guard did an outstanding job the Color Guard took a few great pictures at the end
,
and played around a little too
