"Class 13-10 Dismissed!!"
On Saturday April 17th, 2010 the Temecula Valley Young Marines graduated their 13th class of Recruits the 24 recruits arrived early on Saturday morning as the CO got everything setup for the graduation ceremony the unit's Young Marines were on hand to help setup chairs for all 198 guests for the ceremony. CO Guiles asked Asst. Paymaster Mrs. Munoz if she would not mind taking pictures of the graduation. YM/Sgt. Major Guiles set in his unit Security Force detail Young Marines Sgt. redick, LCpl. Woodruff, PFC Rubio and PFC Bowker. The Young Marines worked cautiously around the Recruits who ran through a couple of practice runs

and watched as YM/Sgt. Major Guiles instructed the recruits on how put their boot bands on for the first time. As Young Marines LCpl. McDaneld, Pvt Black and Pvt. Smith handed out graduation announcements to the parents of the graduating class the CO gave the Recruits one final pep talk before the ceremony was about to begin

The Young Marines took their seats and Parent Volunteers manned the Unit's fundraising table
the CO had YM.1st Sgt. Currier take YM/Sgt. major Guiles' recruits to their staging area

the Color guard took their position and practiced while the guests began to take their seats
. CO Guiles, the guests and the Units Guest of honor 1stSgt. Charmlyn Pile took their seats on stage. YM/Sgt. Major Guiles took his position on center stage after a good morning to the guests the CO asked YM/Sgt. Major Guiles to march on his recruits. With a loud yell YM/Sgt. Major Guiles bellowed out YM/1st Sgt March on the Recruits. YM/1st Sgt. Currier Acknowledged with an "Aye, Aye YM/Sgt. Major". YM/ 1st Sgt. Currier then gave column of files from the "left" to the recruits. The Recruits marched out sharply

(the CO had given orders to the recruit squad leaders to count a slow 8 seconds so their was plenty of marching space between the squads). one by one the squads marched out standing by their seats perfectly as practiced
. The CO then asked for all in attendance to please stand for the marching on of the colors and our National Anthem. YM/Sgt. Major Guiles then marched on the colors all in attendance rose for the colors
. After the colors were retired CO Guiles introduced his staff and our unit's Guest of honor 1st Sgt. Charmalyn Pile from Production & Analysis Support Company stationed on Camp Pendleton, California. 1st Sgt Pile talked to the recruits and the guests of duty, honor and the pride she feels at what the Young Marines represent to her

. There were laughs, cheers and lots of clapping for 1st Sgt. Pile. After the guest of honor took her seat the CO presented 1st Sgt. Pile with a letter of Appreciation form the unit and a unit coin for their appreciation of her attendance at the graduation and the units drill Competition the week before.
It was time for the graduation to begin the first thing to be done was the retiring of the Recruit Class Guidon
. CO Guiles accepted the Guidon from the Recruit Guide
and handed it off to YM/Sgt. Major Guiles who then removed from the stage
. After the Guide returned to her seat the unit Adjutant Mrs Guiles called for the Recruits to march up for their graduation certificate the Guide and 1st Squad stood up and were ready. CO Gguiles and YM/Sgt. Major Guiles handed out the graduation certificates to YM/Sgt. Major Guiles recruit squad
as the Recruits recieved their certificates CO Guiles unbuttoned the top button on thier blouses signifing the lst step in becomming a Young Marine. Next was 2nd Squad the CO and YM/MGySgt. Guiles handed the recruits their graduation certificates to YM/MGySgt. Guiles' squad
. YM/1st Sgt. Currier took his place next to 3rd squad to hand out graduation certificates to YM/1st Sgt. Currier's squad

The unit's XO Mrs. Aguilar took her place next to the CO as they awarded two recruits with meritorious promotions
, as well as the highest PFT (499 points)
, the most inspirational recruit
.The unit adjutant then asked for all five of the hihest academic Recruits to rise
but only one could be chosen for the postition the high academic was a (91.8%) and last but not least the recruit class honor graduate
. Mrs. Guiles made on final announcement the winners of the Drill Competition from the week before 1st Sgt Pile scored a tie between 1st and 2nd Squad. As per the units SOP both squads rate the Drill Competition ribbon for participation however a Drill of was conducted for a final winner (for fun) and YM/MGySgt Guiles recruits in 2nd squad were victorious. Before everyone was to ready to leave the CO asked all of the Young Marines and staff to jump in for a new unit picture
. At the end of the day GySgt. Smothers and his wife volunteered to sew on Unit patches, Arches and Name tapes for the new Young Marines
. The Recruits grabbed their bags with guide books patches and unit T-Shirts and were told to report for their first community service event the next day at the City of Murrieta's Fireman's BBQ.
