On April 17th, 2011 the Temecula Valley Young Marines participated in the 62nd annual Murrieta City Fireman's BBQ from 0830 to 1630. This is an annual event that the Young Marines have been working to provide community service for the past 9 years. Each year our unit has shined and the Young Marines have impressed everyone from the fire fighters to the police, and Murrieta Community leaders and Citizens. The Young Marines were in charge of securing the roads into the event as well as security for the Emergency equipment and vehicles.

. Before the Young Marines went off to their assigned jobs YM/SSgt. Aguilar who ensured his Young Marines understood their instructions. The Young Marines stood fast,  Camelbacks were used and refilled and water was distributed by the firefighters. Fire fighter Hale ensured the Young Marines were supplied with enough food and cold water to distribute to all of the Young Marines. The Young Marines maintained their posts and allowed no one to enter with a vehicle while Some Young Marines set up the security stations at the West and East gates to help better control the flow of traffic , . YM/MGySgt. Guiles ensured that all of the Young Marines were placed where YM/SSgt. Aguilar had wanted them. Young Marines were in charge of providing security for the Fire trucks , , ,, the Fire Fighters' Emergency Technical Rescue gear,, .

The Young Marines also guarded the emergency rescue demonstration area , . It was special for the Young Marines this year because they were the only Youth group asked to help out the City's Fireman's BBQ. The really special addition this came at 1200 when the Fire Fighters asked if a cadre of Young Marines could guard their colors until 1400. Mr. Colvin and Mr. Criske took turns staying with the Young marines at this event. . The Young Marines had a great BBQ lunch and did a lot of important work for the City of Murrieta's fire department. at the end of the day Fire Fighter Hale came over to personally thank the Young marines on a fantastic job. , ,
