FOR THOSE WHO FIGHT FOR IT, LIFE HAS A SPECIAL FLAVOR THE PROTECTED NEVER KNOW...
A Military deployment; is the movement of armed forces and their logistical support infrastructure. To a known or unknown destination throughout the world whether it is to a combat zone or to a non combat training area. This is how it is known in dictionaries, for those of us in the military or former military. It meant going away from your loved ones and returning 6 to 15 months later. It is said that only the sturdiest of Marriages and hearts can stand the full Military lifestyle. We have one of our instructors leaving this month, Sergeant Lingefelt. Sergeant Lingefelt has been with our unit for four years. He has been a great asset to our unit, and has become an outstanding adult mentor to our Young Marines. His wife and son will be saying bye to him for his 3rd tour to Iraq. Today was Sergeant Lingefelt’s last day with us until he returns from Iraq. So the CO threw him a little going away party. All of the Young Marines on hand, recruits and staff signed a card for him. And the Unit Adjutant had a special tri-colored desert camouflage cake
made for Sergeant Lingefelt. The CO had Sergeant Lingefelt say a few words to the Recruits
and Young Marines before they were dismissed. The CO had planned the surprise for the end of the day when all of the Recruit’s and Young Marine’s parents were present
. After all they are part of our family too so they should be included in saying, “Safe journey and safe return,” to Sergeant Lingefelt as well
,
. The Staff got together with Sgt. Ligfelt to wish him a safe journey after everyone else had left.

A going awa y party was held for Lance Corporal Brian Aguilar on Feb. 16th, 2008. This will be his first deployment to Iraq with India Company ¾. They are scheduled to leave soon, we have been privileged to watch Lance Corporal Aguilar grow from a 13 year old Young Marine to the outstanding Marine he is today. Although most Young Marines do not go into the military this was always Lance Corporal Aguilar’s dream and he is living it
,

,
, . While in the Young Marines he learned and absorbed everything he uses now while in the Marine Corps; like self discipline, respect, patriotism, commitment and how to lead a healthy drug free lifestyle to achieve his dream. He must have absorbed a lot of knowledge because he is living and loving his dream
. It is his dream and no one else’s and he is proud of it. Our unit’s executive Officer Theresa Aguilar is Lance Corporal Aguilar’s mother if you ask her how she feels, she will tell you with a nervousness only mother knows. That she is fine and she knows he will be ok, she cannot wait for him to already get back
. These two men are the real heroes in life. They are not make-believe and they are not afraid to go where their country needs them. To them we say Semper Fi!! And we are here for you if you should need us.
