The Young Marines were working at Vail Lake this weekend for the Classic Car and Vintage Trailer show the Young Marines did everything from providing security for the Vintage trailers too traffic control. The Young Marines with the help of Mr. Antonio Johnson and Mat Boudreau helped collect money at the spectator parking area. Several Young Marines also Ran the Deli and the Front Office at the Vail Lake Resort. The traffic Control Point at the Main Entrance had Several Young Marines on it they were charged with keeping the traffic flowing on off of the 79 South Highway. Around 11:45 the County ordered that the Young Marines turn vehicles away because the parking was at max capacity the Young marines informed people of the situation to try back in 1 hour to see if there was any Parking. CO Guiles was on han d with the Young Marines to ensure their safety and to help out. About 50% of those turned away came back and they were allowed in as the parking space became available. The Young Marines utilized two way radios to keep contact with Guard shack when parking spaces became available. Over 5oo spectators showed up between these hours the Young Marines maintained their professionalism and bearing the whole day. The Adjutant commented that people would come over to her they were quite impressed with those young ladies and gentlemen in uniform.
