Message from the Commandant

Welcome to the website for the Southwest Riverside County Detachment #1057, Marine Corps League.  We are very proud to be associated with the Temecula Valley Young Marines who have generously provided a place for us on their website.

Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interest of the United States Marine Corps, banding together those who have been honorably discharged from the service, that they may effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy, voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines, former Marines, Navy Corpsman that have served with Marines, and to their widows and orphans; and to perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.

The Detachment meets once a month to review the activities of the previous month and to plan for the future. The meetings are conducted in a business manner with proper introduction of special guests, Pledge of Allegiance, and opening prayer. Special guests may include representatives of Veterans and Veterans Support organizations such as Paralyzed Veterans of America, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, leaders and representatives of Youth Organizations such as the Young Marines of Temecula, Murrieta and Wildomar, Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps (JROTC) from local High Schools, and volunteers from the Toys For Tots program.  Of particular interest is the first time visits of Marines and Navy Corpsman.  We invite them to share their experiences with us and encourage them to join us. The meeting is concluded with attention to Members in Distress, announcements and an inspirational closing.

The Detachment meets at the VFW Post 1508 located at 21180 Waite Street in Wildomar, Ca. on the last Saturday of the month from 0900 to 1100.
