On September 9th he Temecula Valley Young Marines provided support for this event in the form of Traffic Control, security and helping to setup Vendors booths. This was a huge all day event for the Young Marines who arrived at 0830 and stayed until 1630. Our Young Marines performed their duties with the utmost professionalism that could ever be expected of them. I am proud to be their CO I listened all day to people come up and say thank you for bringing these wonderful Young people to this event. Everyone was extremely happy to see the Young Marines there were lots of Ooh-Rah's!!!! and Semper Fi's for the Young Marines. The DJ for the event "Jumpin Jack Flash" set a challenge to everyone to help send our unit too....... for there deployment this year with that said the first person up was Mr. Kenny Place from the Monday night car club. Mr. Place gave $100.00 to the Young Marines after that the challenge was on a group of Young Marines ran up to the stage and when they were presented the money yelled Ohh-Rah into the Microphone. Mr. Place not satisfied with his initial donation decided that he would walk around and gather money up for the Young Marines and again the unit was presented a large donation from Mr. Place. Mr. Place said he loved seeing the Young Marines and to see what a difference they make in our community Mr. Place's grandfather was an Omaha Beach survivor Ooh- Rah!!! Mr. Place and Semper Fi.
The event kept on going and the beautiful classic cars kept on coming in Mr. and Mrs. Metz who asked us to help out at this event also donated to the unit as well. We thank Mr. and Mrs. Metz for their generosity and for seeing the Young Marines as a positive factor in our country's youth. We wish them well and hopefully next year we can be of help to the Metz family again. Please see the photo's below:
