MUUUUDDDD RUNNNN!!!!!

January 5th was no ordinary drill date oooh- nooo. Everyone loves mud it is the universal element in this universe that we are aware of that which binds us together in team work and play. For example:

  • If you are stuck in the mud it will take another person’s help and team work to get you out (you may also make a friend).
  • The Native Americans made adobe house from the wet earth (Also known as mud.)
  • All little boys and girls love to get dirty (So do some Adults they just need the right reason and conditions). As long as they are safe, what is the harm in letting them enjoy all natural slippery gooey fun?
  • A Mud Run or “Grenade drills” are fun because they promote
  • You can turn a 1.2 mile run such as today into a fun run that you really cannot tell how far you did run.

    camaraderie and unit cohesion.  All of that coupled with team work to get each other through the mud and run.

            Mud and Rain while in the field will make you miserable, if you let it! If you are with a good team of friends you will make the best of it and always look back and say, “Oh man remember when.....” And like the CO says "if it is raining we are training"!

            MUD!!! You see… Is CO Guile's fun philosophy of building Team Work and Unit Cohesion. Without mud what fun or excuse would the CO have for getting really dirty with the Young Marines in all of that muck and mire? It can be an adversary that we overcome as a team and have fun at the same time. Maybe I should take the parents on a mud run. Oooh-rah!!!
