Opening Night Ceremonies
On 8 February 2008 our units Adjutant Mrs. Guiles was called by Mrs. Gainer Maloney of the Murrieta Little League. Mrs. Maloney was needing some assistance, she needed a color guard for their opening night ceremonies. The Adjutant checked with the Units Commanding Officer and cleared it with CO Guiles. Mrs. Guiles called Mrs. Maloney back and said our color guard would love to do the ceremony. The opening night ceremony took place on February 29th at 1815. Upon our arrival we learned that some people never made it to help out with this event. So being good Young Marines we all pitched in and took over the various areas that were in need of support. the color guard consisted of Young Marines GySgt. Nicholas Guiles and LCpl. John Masters, Jr. While the color guard practiced
,
the security force Young Marines GySgt. Joshua Guiles and LCpl. Nathan Taylor secured the area and made sure all Young Marines assigned to a job were being taken care of and watched over
. The Young Marines were assigned the task of ensuring that people were being helped at a table where a letter could be written for the troops overseas

,
. And collecting DVDs for operation DVD. Other Young Marines were given the task of ensuring the safety and security of the children that were playing on the inflatable slides and jumpers

. As the evening wound down Mrs. Maloney came over to the table where the unit Adjutant was working and informed her that. Everyone that had come in contact with the Young Marines had said they were the most professional and polite young men and women they have ever met. And why not they are Young Marines and it was good to know that we were appreciated. The evening was a hit and we were told we saved the day by helping out so much. And the color guard well it was opening night but according to everyone
,
, the color guard was awesome and they were the stars this evening.
Oooh- Rah Young Marines great job.
