Operation DVD Lift for the Troops II
From February 9th to February 10th 200, Young Marines GySgt. Joshua Guiles, Sgt. Currier, LCpl Taylor and LCpl Master along with Mr. Smith. Seperated, cateagorized, counted and placed stickers on over 2, 040 DVDs for Operation DVD. It took over two days to check each DVD box and take the wrappers off of the DVDs and then place an Operation DVD sticker on board the box. As the Young Marines and Mr. Smith packed the boxes they ensured each box had approximatley 255 DVDs inside. The boxes were then taped up and stored away. Next came the hard part the CO was tasked with fnding a lift for the DVDs to Iraq wouldn't you know it the CO had a friend that worked for VMRG 352 the Raiders. He told the CO to give him a few weeks to see if they had room on any planes flying over to Iraq. Sure enough patience paid off and the plane had space for the 8 boxes of DVDs. On March 20th CO Guiles drove down to Miramar to meet up with his friend and they loaded the mount out box to store the DVDs. Operation DVD Lift for the Troops is an internal unit Operation designed to help Operation DVD send thier DVDs over to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.Soon the 2,040 DVDs will be in country and waiting to be handed out to troops to help provide them
with some reaxation and entertainment. Good Job Young Marines.
