Recruit Class 14-11, Dismissed !!!!

It has been a long 9 weeks of Recruit Training for recruit Class 14-11. On Sunday March 20th Recruit class 14-11 held their much anticipated graduation ceremonies at 1000. The recruits invited 325 guests wow!! There was a lot of prior planning in the days ahead of the graduation and big thank you's go out to the Colvin family for supporting the unit with the rental of the chairs, Mrs. Munoz for getting the graduation cakes, Mrs. Aguilar for putting together a recruit class story board and Mrs. Guiles for the sale items, pictures and family coordination. Thank you to all of the Young Marine parents who volunteered to stay and help with the graduation and the cleanup.

The graduation started with the presentation of colors YM's Mgysgt. Guiles, 1stSgt. Currier and SSgt. Aguilar comprised the color guard they had their own special way of marching on the colors and they did a fantastic job. Next came Young Marines LCpl. Burks who sang the National anthem and Cpl. Sanchez who signed the National Anthem in American Sign Language.

Before the graduation began the CO took a few minutes to thank the staff and the families for supporting their graduating recruit, the CO also welcomed the recruits into their new Family as a Young Marine. With the CO's thank you's and welcome completed the microphone was handed over to the Adjutant for the start of the graduation. Before the recruits could march up and receive their diplomas and awards Class 14-11's guidon had to be retired properly. After the retirement of the guidon it was time for the Recruits to become Young Marines. As standard TVYM fashion the Recruits received their diploma had their top button unbuttoned and presented their diplomas to the crowd with hoots, hollers and pictures taken the next recruit stepped up.

The whole ceremony took less than 40 minutes and looked outstanding there was some mingling at the end as the Young Marines welcomed aboard their new Young Marines. Another recruit class graduated and more Young Marines enter into our family.
