Relay For Life
The Temecula Valley Young Marines has participated in the American cancer Society's "Relay for Life" event for the last 3 years this year however will be special we will be running for our former Young Marine Cpl. Parker whose Mother Fran has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We are with you Fran and our hopes and prayers are with you as well. Our team's message and theme will be a take-off the tv show "Survivor"... with "BE A PART OF SURVIVOR" - Register to be a Bone Marrow Donor!  Our own CO Guiles donated, he was a match a few years ago and donated his bone marrow to someone he had never met and saved their life by giving 1 and half liters of Bone Marrow. Mr. Brain Moore showed up with his family for the event and finally met his donor (BC Guiles). it was quite a meeting. Well the relay went pretty smooth The Young Marines arrived early and set upi the Camp sites after the colors were presented by the Pechanga fire Department we were released to the track. Sgt. Jones and BC Guiles hit the track with Mr. Perez (one of our Young Marines Fathers). Sgt. jones and the BC carried 50 lb packs for the first 10 miles then they dropped the packs. Mr. Perez staid with the BC and Sgt Jones for 20 miles. We had a visit from the Cheveron newspaper from MCRD Sand Diego California with a nicely written article from Pfc. Alcia Small....
