The Temecula Valley Young Marines started summating in early 2006 when a trip was planned for the unit to Kilimanjaro. However the National Executive Director and the State Department decided otherwise (Tanzania is too unstable). The Unit CO has been keeping a log of our journeys and our ascents for the past two years. The summit site will show each Young Marines name, the year of the summit, the place of the summit, and of course the elevation or ascent to the top. The unit has racked up a few feet in elevation and the Young Marines have asked for more. Well the weather is cool now so maybe it is time to go ahead and do some walking.
