TVYM Family Yard Sale
On April 19th and 20th 2008, the family's of the Temecula Valley Young Marines all banded together and brought over all of their items for the units yard sale at the CO's House
,
. The CO's house is the perfect spot since they live 1 block from Pechanga, over 40,000 vehicles a day pass by and why not take advantage of that. Signs were made from a parent volunteer and the Young Marines manned the corners to intce people into the yard sale
,
. The sale went on for two days and netted the unit $2,400, for thier units deployment fund. The Young Marines and the parent volunteers worked very hard at the yard sale while the CO and XO took the rest of the unit to the Roy Rogers event. The day started at 0530 for the Unit Adjutant Mrs. Guiles who organized the event, the day was also early for parent volunteers who showed up early to help set up and for those who stayed all day and helped tear down the items. The units Security force led by Young Marine First Sergeant Guiles aksed customers to please move thier vehilce of they were blocking a neighbors drive way. It was an easy day for everyone and a fun one but for good unit cause the units deployment this year. Ooh-Rah!!! Young Marines.
