TVYM’s VETRANS APPRECIATION WEEK 2010

"A Color Guard for the City and a

Happy birthday for the Marine Corps"

On November 9th, The Temecula Valley Young Marines color guard stepped into the chambers at City Hall. it was a large quite room that would soon be filled with a loud Ooh-rah! The Color Guard was on hand to present the colors at the City's monthly meeting and to lead everyone in the pledge of allegiance. Unbeknownst to everyone YM/LCpl. McDaneld would say a loud and motivating Happy 235th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps. The CO however left out the part about the City Hall meeting being a live broadcast to the every home in Temecula when he asked LCpl. McDaneld to speak tonight.

The time came 1900 and the Young Marine Color Guard Sgt. Munoz and Cpl. Criske led by LCpl. McDaneld marched into the City Hall chambers . You could hear the orator ask everyone to please rise. As the Colors Posted, LCpl. McDaneld presented herself to the audience and asked them to please recite the pledge of allegiance with her .

After the pledge LCpl. McDaneld then added "I would also like to wish a Happy 235th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps Ooh Rah!" After she said that there were a lot of ooh-Rah's back and a standing ovation. LCpl. McDeneld returned to her position and the Color Guard faced and marched out. A great 12 minute job and a great way to reach out to every veteran in the City of Temecula, Murrieta, Hemet and Menifee.

Great job Young Marines !!!!
