Veterans Day 2006
The Temecula valley Young Marines attended the veterans day celebration at the Temecula Valley Duck pond on November 11th
. Although the unit arrived back in Temecula at 0200 from there recent unit deployment, a small contingent was formed to make a presence
. The Young Marines intended on showing up in support of local veterans as soon as the unit showed up CO Guiles was asked if they could lead everyone in the pledge of allegiance. CO Guiles talked to the Company 1stSgt. Gunnery Sergeant Katie Aguilar and informed her on what is needed to be done to accomplish this task
. Gunnery Sergeant Aguilar walked up the Young Marines and informed them of what was going to happen, after about 5 minutes the small contingent from the unit stepped off to the front of the podium and presented arms while leading the audience in the pledge of allegiance. The unit went to order arms when completed and return to the back of the audience.

When the guest speakers were done the Young Marines took a walk along the duck pond to the memorial and viewed the pavers for those who have served there country. They all took a look at the paver that was laid down for there own CO
. The CO said that people approached him to tell him how wonderful the Young Marines looked and how much it meant to them that someone honors those who served past and Present. It was a job well done once again for our unit. GOOD JOB YOUNG MARINES OOOH-RAH!!!!
