Young Marine Lt. Davy

In September of this Year Lt. Boudreau our trainign Officer deployed to far off places with SEAL Team 5. Along with him he took YM/Sgt. Joe's friend YM/Lt. Davy. Just as YM/Sgt. Joe for the Marines and Sailors of HMH 462 with Sgt. Diaz. YM/Lt.Davy is also taking on the mission of a Young Marine MWR Representative from Temecula Valley. Below is a Diary from Lt. Boudreau and YM/Lt. Davy enjoy.

Sept. 10, 2008:

LT Davy Jones had a good couple of days. He's completed his check in with the CO and will be used in different departments on multiple tasks. Day one he was given a physical fitness test, which he passed easily.

Tomorrow morning we are leaving for Iraq. LT Jones dropped off his bags and went looking for additional equipment.

That's all for now.

Oct 5, 2008:

Dear Young Marines,

Hello from Iraq. Getting to do a couple of different things out here. I checked into the comms shop and have been working on the computer and answering trouble calls.

I was able to raise colors over the camp last week.

I got to ride on an Osprey, but was unable to get any pictures because both flights were at night and the helo was pitch black. We were flying around with the back open and the gunner was back there doing his thing. I felt sick because there was no horizon to look at and we were facing inward.

Tomorrow I'm going to attend RG-33 training. That will allow me to ride in convoys.

When I get back up to Al Asad I'm going to do some work with Supply and the SeaBees.

Take care. Keep studying hard.

LT Davy Jones

Oct 8, 2008:

So Young Marines, another busy day around camp today. I was able to help the SeaBees tear down a building and saw apart some of the beams; of course I had some help with the saw. I rode a large 20 ton fork lift while putting the scraps on a flatbed truck.

I also got to ride around on a Tactical ATV! I handled it quite well. The gravel around the camp let's you do doughnuts fairly easy...good times!

Got to go get some rest...I might get to go on a convoy tomorrow. I need to be fully alert for the ride.

Talk to you later.
LT Jones
