The Temecula Valley Young Marines are moving fast on getting their new training area ready to use. The interesting fact on this is the training versus our last training area there is so much more for us to do with 62 acres at our disposal the training has been named the “Young Marines Ranch”. There a lot of oak trees with soem pretty cool coverage over a river ,, , . The 62 acre property was donated for our use by the owners who wish to remain annomyous at this time. The owners and the Young marines were introduced by a local Real Estate broker who thought we were the perfect match. On our units ranch the Young Marines will have the opportunity to grown certain kinds of vegetables, avocados and other citrus fruits. The Young Marines will learn how to plant, maintain and cultivate their crops. These crops will then be utilized as a fundraiser for our Young Marines unit. CO Guiles is already working on the planning and cost of adding solar power as soon as our buildings are put in. We are also planning on having a well dug, and one of the most important facts about this property is that the Young Marines will have an ongoing Conservation project maintaining the Dos Rios River that runs through the property.  Once we have fully moved in. The training area is beyond our imaginations, Rappelling sites down waterfalls, Rope bridges, bouldering, wildlife and encampments.

A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Velasco who contacted the Fallbrook Equipment rentals company in Fallbrook California. The company donated a bulldozer for a weekend so we can level out the ground. CO Guiles, Sgt. Noe and Young Marine Sgt. Major Guiles spent three days and 34 hours bulldozing , and spreading ¾ inch rock , brought to the property by Mr. Criske , . It was a lot of hard work but the trio managed to get a lot done and prepped the property to have a packing building dropped at the site. When completed the Young Marines ranch will have a packing building which can double as the classroom, heads, showers and a whole lot of exciting fun and adventures waiting for the Young Marine unit.

OOH - Rah!!! here’s to a great adventure and huge learning opportunities ahead for us.
