The Commanding Officer and staff of the Temecula Valley Young Marines has finally introduced the units new anti drug manuals to their Young marines. It has taken almost 14 months to put these long awaited manuals together but they are worth their weight in gold to this unit. According to the Commanding Officer "the manaulas are put togther into (8) seperate books these books are not only here to instruct our Young Marines but their Parents and siblings". The first two books of the Anti Drug Manauals are set up for the Young Marines their are (24) usable classes in this manual it is designed to give a class a month for over (24) months without repetition or (2) classes a month for over (12) months. The information and pictures paint the graphic compilation of the effects drug abuse can take on a persons body and mind and that of their family as well. These classes are setup in Military format style and will be given by a designated insructor which could be a visting Police Officer and or our own Training Officer, Oceanside Police Officer SSgt. Candido Guevara.

The Second (2) books are for the Parents these Manuals are the same exact copies as teh Young Marines except for some extra details for the Parents to know. These manuals are set up to be given to the Parents and the Young Marines siblings every training quarter, the instructors of these manauls will be the designated Adult Staff and the Senior Young Marines of our unit. It is the hope of the Commanding Officer that by having the Young Marines give Drug awarness classes to the parents that the parents themselves will listen mor attentivley.

The Parent Manuals also come with a small Manual titled "Ways to help keep your Young Marine Drug free". This is a simple manual with some ideas to help the parents help thier Young Marines and other children maintain a healthy drug free lifestyle.

The next Book is the United States Governments threat assesment on illegal drugs within our country, this can be a scarry book but is just used for referance for the Young Marines who maybe assigned a class or for those Parents who wish to simply read more about how dangerous the illegal drug threat is within our Country.

The Last (2) books are the United Nations Threat brief on illegal drugs around the world, this is split into Volumes (1 and 2), these intimidating books show just how bad the buying, selling, distribution and the illegal drug running is around the world. These manuals help bring to the Young Marines a closer look at how the illegal drug problem is not just a United States problem but a world problem.
