May 2005, HQ Marine Corps sends out a Press Release on the hard work of the Temecula Valley Young Marines.

May 2005, TVYM gears up for deployment to Washington, DC with the 3rd Battalion, the planes were grounded and the deployment was cancelled.

July 2005, TVYM participates in the City of Temecula’s 4 th of July Parade, the unit won 1 st place in most patriotic.

August 2005, TVYM informs the National HQ’s that the unit has collected 600 Cell Phones for CARE international.

August 2005, TVYM helps the 3 rd Battalion in it’s efforts to provide relief for those affected by Hurricane Katrina in “Operation Guardian Angel”.

August 2005, TVYM Conducts the “Fill-a-backpack campaign for underprivileged children.

September 2005, TVYM holds a black tie dinner and silent auction fundraiser

October 2005, TVYM and the 3 rd Battalion end “Operation Guardian Angel” the unit helped collect $21,000 in 30 days to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

October 2005, TVYM Conduct Community service at it’s new training facility at Vail Lake Resort, California.

October 2005, TVYM’s Security Force is formed up and in place.

November 2005, TVYM Deploys to Washington, DC to help the National HQ in several high profile events. And to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the “Unknown Soldier”. The unit Deploys with 70 Young Marines and staff from the 3rd battalion (this is the first time the 3rd battalion has deployed).

November 2005, TVYM receives the Veterans appreciation award from the National HQ’s for their work during veterans appreciation week 2005.

Young Marine Sergeant Nicholas Guiles was the units 4th Young Marine promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

October 2006, The unit kicks of their 2nd annual Vail Lake Halloween celebration for 3 weeks of Community service.

Perez drive to Barstow California and pick up 10,000 books from Mr. And Mrs. Craig to send them to the troops over seas. This is called Operation pages.

February 1st, 2007, The Unit finalizes Operation pages with the help of Sgt. Major Vaughn (Ret) The unit loaded all 10,000 books on a pallet bound for Iraq and Afghanistan.

February 20th, 2007 The unit supplied San Onofre Nuclear generating station with 12 boxes for Operation DVD.

March 1st, 2007 The unit deploys to Naval Amphib Base, Coronado, Ca to receive a class on the LCAC and utilize the US Navy's LCAC simulator.

March 9th, 2007 The unit volunteers at the Rancho Community church as security for their point of grace concert.

March 10th, 2007 The unit graduates 25 Recruits class 09-07

March 24th, 2007 The Unit held their first Flag retirement ceremony with the Honorable Mayor Chuck Washington from the city of Temecula present.

March 24th, 2007 The Commanding Officer Michael Guiles has started Operation Creative Minds, this Operation will be conducted every year and offers a $500.00 (529) college education plan to the Young marine who submits the most stories.

April 12th, 2007 The Temecula Valley Young Marines receive a thank you letter from the Rancho Damaciats Foster home for their service during a recent concert benefiting the foster home.

April14th, 2007 The Temecula Valley Young Marines, SONGS and Sandbox have collected 1,559 DVD's to send to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

April 15th, 2007 The Temecula Valley Young Marines have been asked once again to assist the Murrieta Firemen during their annual fireman's BBQ the Young Marines will be providing security and first aid.

April 22nd, 2007 The Temecula Valley Young Marines have signed up their unit to support the Relay for Life at Vista Murrieta High School, they have secured 100 Volunteers to walk in the event spread over 4 teams.

May 2nd, 2007 A Small Cadre of Young Marines accompanied the CO, LTJG Boudreau and Mrs. Aguilar to the HOBY Albert Schwitzer awards as guests of Mr. Hugh O'Brian.

May 4th, 2007 The Temecula Valley Young Marines provide support to the Relay for Life Committee to help setup the event camps for the relay.

May 5th, 2007 the Temecula Valley Young Marines unit walks in the 2007 relay for life with 84 participants on 3 teams (Alpha, Bravo & Charlie) the unit raised over $4,000 for the American cancer Society.

May 12th, 2007 the Temecula Valley Young Marines deploy to San Diego to tour the USS Tarawa and lay a wreath at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

May 18th, 2007 the Temecula Valley Young Marines helped set up the Relay for Life at Great High School.

May 31st, 2007, The Unit Logistics Officer Theresa Aguilar made contact with a C-130 squadron, the unit delivered 75 empty Operation DVD boxes to the squadron to be shipped to the Okinawa Young Marines.

June 5th, 2007, San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) has pledged to try and collect 1,500 DVDs for Operation DVD.

June 7th, 2007, The Largest Defense Contractor in the World has teamed up with the Temecula Valley Young Marines and SONGS to support Operation DVD.

November 8th - 16th 2007, The Temecula Valley Young Marines deploy with 43 members of their unit to Washington, DC for Veterans day events.

December 21st 2007, The City of Temecula announces the winners of the City's annual light parade, Our unit took first in the humorous category.

December 30th 2007, The Temecula Valley Young Marines, Initiate "Operation Helping Hands" the unit is directly injecting DVD's into the troops hands as they deploy.

2008

January 19th, 2008, Temecula Valley Young Marines holds it's 10th Recruit Training Class (10-08) with 30 Recruits for the next 9 weeks and 132.5hours of instruction.

January 28th, 2008, The Temecula valley Young Marines receive a Letter of Appreciation from Congressman Darrell Issa for the units efforts in helping start up and supply the Volunteer Cadet Corps Australia with the essential elements to start a Young Marine unit in their Country.

February 13th, 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines hold a going away party for Sgt. Lingefelt one of their Instructors who will be deploying for his 3rd tour to Iraq.

February 16th, 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines were given a Letter of Appreciation from the Hangtown Young Marines for helping supply their Marine Cadets with the essential elements to conduct field training.

February 23rd, 2008, The Unit Adjutant Mrs. Guiles takes three Female Young Marines to New York City to attend the United Nations Women's summit.

February 26th, 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines Continue "Operation Helping Hands" by handing 2,200 DVDs and CDs to the Marines of India Co. 3/4 on board MCB, 29 Palms California.

February 29th, 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines provided Support for the Murrieta Little League by presenting the colors and providing assistance at the write a letter for to the troops table.

March 6th, 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines go to Hollywood to provide support for the farewell ceremony for Mr. Johnny Grant. The Young Marines escorted Generals, Dignitaries, Movie Stars and City Officials to their seats at the the pantages theater.

March 8th, 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines deploys to MCRD San Diego with the 3rd Battalion to watch the Marine Corps Silent Drill Team.

March 15th, 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines Continue "Operation Helping Hands" by handing 2,000 DVDs and CDs to the Marines of 1st Intel Battalion on board MCB, Camp Pendleton, California.

March 20th 2008, The unit continued "Operation DVD lift for the troops" packaged up 8 boxes of DVDs (2,040) for Operation DVD, they were delivered to MCAS Miramar by CO Guiles and will be flown by C-130 to Al Asaad in Iraq for the troops.

March 22nd, 2008, Recruit class 10-08 will be graduating 28 new recruits to become Young Marines, Temecula City's Mayor Mike Naggar will be speaking at the graduation.

April 4th, 2008, This Friday, April 4th is the Community Service Project @ Cornerstone Church for the Barlow Girls Concert. It’s a concert fundraiser for Rancho Damacitas.

April 5th, 6th, and 7th 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines Continue "Operation Helping Hands" by handing 6,000 DVDs and CDs to the Marines of 2/7 on board MCB, 29 Palms, California. at 0400.

April 6th 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines say farewell (for 7 months) to Cpl. Diaz as she heads off to Iraq, Along with Cpl. will be with the unit's honorary Young Marine. Young Marine Joe, Joe is is a GI Joe that will accompany Cpl. Diaz and the Marines of HMH-462 as they are deployed in Iraq. The unit will have an updated diary of his adventures in Iraq Young Marine Joe is there to be the units MWR Officer for HMH-462.

April 12th 2008, The Unit holds it's first annual BBQ lunch and pie the CO in the face fundraiser.

April 13th 2008, The unit will be helping out the Murrieta Fire Fighters for the 5th Year at their annual Fireman's BBQ.

April 14th 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines provided support and parking security for the County of Riverside DA's Candlelight Vigil.

April 19th 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines are providing support for the Roy Rogers Rangers at their new Moreno Valley arena,

June 20-22nd 2008, The unit participated in the first Southern California Regimental encampment with 6 other Units from the Southern California Regiment.

June 24th 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines help decorate the Armed Services YMCA in San Diego for their Annual Christmas you missed event.

July 2nd and 3rd 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines provide community support to the Rancho Community Church.

July 4th 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines participate in the Cities annual 4th of July parade the unit marched with Sgt. Major Vaughn (ret). Retirement flag the unit was awarded the best marchers category.

July 8th 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines dropped off 1200 DVDs, CDs and books to the Sailors of the USS George Washington, the Young Marines were also treated to a tour of the ship as well.

July 23rd 2008, the Temecula Valley Young Marines receive a thank you letter from the Armed Services YMCA for the nits participation in the ASYMCA's annual Christmas you missed event.

July 25th - 27th 2008, The unit participates in the Southern California Regiments second encampment of the year.

July 26th 2008, The Unit receives the Young Marine Commendation service award from the Division 6 Commander, for the units participation in the city of Linda vista's Multi Cultural parade.

August 2nd, 2008, 4 Temecula Valley Young Marines Graduate from the Southern California Regiment's 1st Junior Leadership School.

August 23rd 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines held their 4th annual Silent Auction event.

August 27th 2008, CO Guiles, XO Aguilar, Parent Volunteer Mr. Simms and 4 Young Marines drove to 29 Palms at 0100 to hand out 1,058 DVDs to the Deploying Marines and Sailors of 3/7.

September 28th 2008, The Temecula valley Young Marine hold Retirement Ceremonies for YM's Sgt. Major Katie Aguilar and Sgt. Zach Taylor.

September 28th 2008, the Temecula Valley Young Marines send a small contingent of Young Marines to Miramar to provide a Color Guard for their Recruit graduation.

September 29th 2008, Young Marines 1st Sgt. Guiles and MSgt. Guiles packaged 1,200 DVDs, 1 DVD player (and 20 PS2 games donated by YM/MSgt. Guiles) to the troops and their Training Officer Lt. Boudreau with SEAL Team 5 in Iraq via C-130 as well as two former Young Marines.

September 30th 2008, 1,200 DVDs, 1 DVD player (and 20 PS2 games donated by YM/MSgt. Guiles) were deployed to Iraq for Operation DVD.

October 1st 2008, With the help of Parent Volunteer Mrs. Blake the CO and Adjutant were at SONGS helping to raise money for the Young Marines.

October 4th 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines began their community service event at Vail lake which will last until November 1st.

November 22nd 2008, The Unit Deploys the CO, Adjutant, Mr Smith and Mrs Tashoff with 13 Young Marines to aid victims of the Sylmar fire.

November 30th 2008, Operation Christmas Lift, The Temecula Valley Young Marines packaged and boxed over 2,500 DVDs for the units adopted Military personnel of Special Operations Task Force West (SOTF-W) Al Asad, Iraq and ACE VMGR-352, Al Asad Iraq. All of the Operation DVD boxes carry special Christmas items as well.

December 5th 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines take part in the City's Christmas parade.

December 6th, 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines Color Guard takes part in the Murrietta City's Candlelight Vigil

December 7th 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Marines take part in the Los Angeles VA's 16th annual Christmas Celebration.

December 14th 2008, the Temecula Valley Young Marines go to MCRD San Diego to join General Salinas and the 1st Marine Divison Band singing Christmas Carols.

December 16th 2008, The Temecula Valley Young Mariens send over 3,500 DVDs and gift packages to SEAL Team 5 and 9th COmmunications Battalion.

2009

Recruit Class 11-09 started up 9 weeks of learning and fun for 27 future Young Marines.

January 11th 2009, The National Director and Mr. Adams visit with the Temecula Valley Young Marines

January 19th 2009, The Temecula Valley Young Marines deploy to the USS Midway to help Usher in the Stories of Service Project for the Young Marines.

February 4th and 5th 2009, the Temecula Valley Young Marines were at the 2009 Marine Corps expo helping the National HQ's at their booth.

February 7th 2009, The Temecula Valley Young Marines help the American Cancer Society kick off the Temecula Relay for Life.

February 9th,10th and 11th 2009, The Temecula Valley Young Marines Operation Helping Hands VII began when the Young Marines and staff handed out DVDs to the deploying Marines of 1/7 at MCB 29 Palms.

February 27th 2009, The Temecula Valley Young Marines present the colors at the Murrieta Little leagues opening day ceremonies and help ensure the Jumpers are safely being used.

February 28th 2009, The Temecula Valley Young Marines help kick off the Stories of Service project by interviewing Mr. Lucky Brugnola a Pearl Harbor and USS Shaw survivor.

March 20th, 2009, The Temecula Color Guard performed at the Veterans Musuem in Balboa park San Diego.

March 21st 2009, The Temecula Valley Young Marines after 9 straight weeks and 144.8 training hours graduated 25 brand new Recruits. The guidon for class 11-09 has been retired.

April 13th 2009, The national Headquarters announced that The temecula Valley Young marines have won the Division 6 Unit of The Year for 2007 to 2008. This is the units 3 time recieving this award.

April 18th 2009, CO, Guiles announced that the unit has recognized as the Division 6 Unit of the Year for 2007 - 2008, The units Training Officer returns from Iraq and presents the unit with a flag flown Camp Friewald.

April 19th 2009, The Unit participated in the Murrieta city's 62nd annual Fireman's Barbeque, the unit was allowed to Rappel down the wall of the city's Community center.

April 24th 2009, The unit supported the Murrieta Relay For Life with their pre walk setup, and al night security of their gear.

April 25th 2009, At 0900 the units Color Guard performed for the Murrieta RFL opening ceremonies. The Units Security Force provided overnight gate Security for the Murrieta Relay For Life.

April 26th 2009, The unit celebrated their 2nd annual Pie The CO in the face barbeque and fundraiser.

May 9th 2009, the Temecula Valley Young Marines split their unit and helped at two simultaneous community service events the Murrietta City Chili Cook off and Roy Rogers rangers.

May 10th 2009, The Temecula Valley Young Marines CO and Adjutant took a small cadre of Young Marines to a community service event during Mothers day.

November 10 2009, The unit helped usher in the Marine Corps 234th birthday at Richies diner in Temecula.

November 11th 2009, the Unit participated in the Sand Diego Veterans Parade.

November 14th 2009, The Unit set up and operated thier field Kitchen at the 12 hours of Temecula bike race.

November 22nd 2009, The unit packaged 4 large boxes and sent them over to deployed Marines and Sailors in Afghanistan for Operation Christmas lifet II.

December 4th 2009, The unit participated in the City of Temecula's annual Christmas parade we took second place.

December 5th 2009, The unit begins Cold weather training for thier cold weather encampments in 2010.

December 20th 2009, The Temecula Valley Young Marines Color Guard presents the colors to 65,000 spectators at the San Diego Chargers and the Cincinnati Bengal's game. Young Marine 1st Sgt. Guiles helped make this event possible.

2010

January 10th 2010, The Temecula Valley Young Marines held participated in community service for the SASS' Roy Rogers Rangers.

January 17th 2010, The Temecula Valley Young Marines held their first encampment for 2010, the Young Marines hiked up Oak Mountain (4228ft) and camped out overnight for cold weather survival I classes.

January 27th & 28th, The Temecula Valley Young Mariens were asked for their support by the National Headquarters at this years Marine Expo West.
