Young Marines support service members with Operation DVD

On the morning of Aug. 27 the Temecula Valley Young Marines of Temecula, Calif., braved early morning hours and cool temperatures at the Combat Center’s Unit Marshaling Area to show their support for 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, who were deploying to Iraq by distributing free DVDs to the Marines and sailors. Young Marines send 10,000 books to the troops
On December 23rd , 2006 a cadre of four Young Marines and two Adult Staff and two Parent Volunteers drove up to Barstow, California to pick up 10,000 books from the Book Den. The book store had been operated by Mr. and Mrs. Craig along with their partner Mrs. Barbra Withson. They had asked Mr. Steve Hallaway of AMVETS, who is currently working on Operation DVD, if he knew of anyone who could pick up these books and get them to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan: MCAS Flight Jacket 2/1/2007

On a recent Saturday morning 50 members of The Temecula Valley Young Marines presented representatives of the Friends of the Temecula Library with approximately 2,500 books that the group collected to donate to the Friends Bookstore, which will be a part of the new Temecula Public Library.Valley News 10/06/2006

Relay for Life
The Unit showed their support for the community by participating in and helping setup up the Relay for Life event in Temecula. The unit also showed their support for a fellow Young Marine who moved to Tennessee and who's mother has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
