Young Marines send 10,000 books to the troops On December 23rd , 2006 a cadre of four Young Marines and two Adult Staff and two Parent Volunteers drove up to Barstow, California to pick up 10,000 books from the Book Den. The book store had been operated by Mr. and Mrs. Craig along with their partner Mrs. Barbra Withson. They had asked Mr. Steve Hallaway of AMVETS, who is currently working on Operation DVD, if he knew of anyone who could pick up these books and get them to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan: MCAS Flight Jacket 2/1/2007 |

Relay for Life The Unit showed their support for the community by participating in and helping setup up the Relay for Life event in Temecula. The unit also showed their support for a fellow Young Marine who moved to Tennessee and who's mother has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Her image was shown to the entire audience to show our support during a Power Point presentation. the Unit walked a total of 120 miles combined, their efforts and support were also noticed by the Chevron Newspaper on MCRD California take a moment to read the article by PFC.
